Purchase tickets online at the official website of the Eiffel Tower 3 months in advance to reserve the day and time you want to go.
Reservations open 3 months in advance at 8:30am Paris time, so be ready to purchase tickets as soon as they go on sale for the date you want to visit.
Choose lift entrance tickets with access to the summit. This will let you skip a 1-2 hour line to enter the Eiffel Tower and ride the elevator to the 2nd floor.
Plan on spending 90 minutes at the Eiffel Tower – if you have purchased your lift tickets in advance.
Inside the Eiffel Tower
Even with ticket reservations to skip the entrance line, once inside you will still wait in line to take the elevator from the 2nd floor to the summit.
Riding in the elevator is the closest you might ever be to a stranger in your entire life. That’s ok because it’s short lived and totally worth the amazing views at the top.
Ride the elevator to the top/summit and take your time as you enjoy spectacular views in every direction.
Descend by elevator from the summit to the 2nd floor, then take the stairs from the 2nd floor to the ground. Stop at the 1st floor on the way down. Peer through the glass floor underneath your feet to the street below.
Notice the inner workings of the Eiffel Tower and how the view changes as you descend.
Visiting at Night
Be sure and visit at night when the Eiffel Tower is lit up with sparkling lights.
Lights sparkle for 5 minutes every hour on the hour. It varies as to whether this starts at 10 or 11pm (after sunset) and ends at 1 or 2am (after dark). Don’t miss these magical moments under the most famous landmark in Paris.
No tickets are required to enjoy the view from the esplanade and lawn beneath the Eiffel Tower. Bring a picnic and blanket to spread on the Champs de Mars and watch the lights dance.
