Start a food blog in 3 easy steps
Find a hosting service. I highly recommend visiting Bluehost and signing up with them. Bluehost is easy, inexpensive and best of all, they give you a domain name for free.
Bluehost has different plans to choose from.
You can search for domain names through Bluehost. Bluehost gives it to you for FREE. I definitely recommend using a .com domain name. Stay away from domains that are misspelled, have special characters (hyphens or numbers) or are difficult to remember. Pick a domain name that is short, memorable, and gives the reader an idea of what your website is about.
Once you’ve signed up with Bluehost, you will want to install WordPress. WordPress is your blogging software and will put the tools you need to create a website at your fingertips.
Login to your Bluehost account and do the 1 step install of WordPress from the dashboard. Follow the steps and within minutes WordPress is ready to go.
Think of themes as the design of your website. What will the layout be? What features can you add? Does it support affiliate advertising?
You can start your blog by using a free WordPress theme, but I highly recommend starting with a theme where your blog can grow. Free themes have limitations. You don’t want to put a lot of work and time into building a website only to realize a short time later that it doesn’t support the features you need to make your blog grow.
